Shriya Saran was born on 11 September 1982 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. But has spent her childhood in Haridwar. She has done schooling from Delhi Public School in Haridwar and New Delhi. Later she has done graduation in BA literature from Lady Shri Ram College. She got trained in Kathak and Rajasthani folk dance by her mother. Later trained in Kathak style by Shovana Narayan.
