Harshika Poonacha was born on 1st May 1990 in Ammathi, Kodagu district, Karnataka, India; but now they live together in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. She got her education in her homeland and after that she came to Indian film industry and joined it. In 2012 she joined 'Maxpro' Software Company and agreed to work for five days in a month while working 21 days in films.
