Shweta Pandit


















                                               Shweta Pandit was born on 7 July 1986 . She has completed her education from Utpal Shanghvi School. Shweta recorded her first film song at the age of 4, for Mani Ratnam’s Anjali and went on to record as a child-vocalist. She dubbed for the lead role in the film in Hindi. She belongs to the Mewati Gharana of Music Tradition, which was brought into light by her Grand-Uncle Padma Vibhushan – Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj.Shweta Pandit is quite the powerhouse of talent being a popular Bollywood Playback/Recording Vocalist, songwriter, composer, performing artist and actor in Bollywood. 



                                            When she was all of four, she had the golden opportunity of working with the legendary composer, Ilayaraja for the award-winning film Anjali. Her major break was when she was roped in Yash Raj Films and Aditya. She had her breakthrough with Yash Raj Films and Aditya Chopra's Mohabbatein (2000) with five songs at the age of 12. She was chosen to sing in the film, after she auditioned for the final selection among almost 500 singers. Her debut record album Main Zindagi Hoon released when she was only 16 years old with EMI Virgin Records, India. Becoming the youngest Indian-Pop star. She released 3 videos from this album, featuring herself. 


                                          Her other albums include Aplam Chaplam. She sang and featured for various television commercials.Shweta Pandit is among the popular Bollywood Playback singer, recording Vocalist, composer, songwriter and a performing actor in B Town. She was born and brought uin Mumbai City in a music family popularly known as the Mewati Gharana, which belongs to legends like Pandit Motiram ji and Pandit Jyotiram who all are among the veterans in music. Her schooling came from the popular Utpal Shanghvi, while for college she went to Mithibai College for her further studies. From her tender age of four, she started working with some of the top Indian computers called Ilayaraja for her award-winning movie called Anjali, which was then re-recorded in the Hindi language. This was later dubbed for the lead role in a Hindi movie.At the age of five, Shweta Pandit worked with Ilayaraja for Anjali. She has sung in various films even as a child-singer including Pardes, Raju Chacha, Saaz and many more.
 


                                       Her elder sister Shradha Pandit is also a playback singer. Her elder brother Yash Pandit is a bollywood and television actor. Her father is an acclaimed tabla player and music composer, Vishwaraj Pandit.Shweta recorded her first film song at the age of 4, for Mani Ratnam’s Anjali and went on to record as a child-vocalist. Shweta got her first breakthrough with Yash Raj Films and Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein (2000) with five songs at the age of 12. Her popular songs are from Aditya Chopra’s “Ladies vs Ricky Bahl” (2011), Neal ‘n’ Nikki (2005), Dharmendra’s Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011), David Dhawan’s Partner (2007), Anees Bazmee’s Welcome (2007), Ram Gopal Varma’s Naach (2004) and Sarkar Raj (2009), Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011) etc. Shweta is currently the most popular singer in Telugu film industry Hyderabad. Her Debut Record Album Main Zindagi Hoon released when she was only 16 years old with EMI Virgin Records, India. Shweta is also the winner of the Indian Honor – Filmfare awards 2009. Shweta got her first breakthrough with Yash Raj Films and Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein (2000) with five songs at the age of 12.


                                     She was chosen to sing in the film, after she auditioned for the final selection among almost 500 singers. Shweta created an unbreakable record then to be the youngest Bollywood singer to be launched as the singing voice for a lead actor.
