Kavita Kaushik is an Indian actress. She made her television debut with Ekta Kapoor's Kutumb. Kaushik is best known for her portrayal of Chandramukhi Chautala on SAB TV sitcom F.I.R., a role which established her career in the Indian television industry, and made her a household name.[1][2] Kaushik had participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye, and was one the participants in the eighth installation of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. In the year 2001 she appeared in auditions in the New Delhi forKutumb and moved to Mumbai to be the part of the entertainment world. Just because of her unique voice and tall height she has been given so many offers with the negative impression as well. As being the model she even appeared in quite a few advertisments as before making her way in the modelling that made her face quite unique and noticeable.Right from her college days, Kavita bagged modeling assignments owing to her beauty. Her impressive personality got her several anchoring and hosting jobs at events.

She further went on to portray the character of Naina in Kumkum.Kavita, like a few other co actors has also dared to venture into films. Her debut in films was in the movie Ek Hasina Thi in 2004. She further went on to act in the 2009 release Mumbai Cutting, which was followed by Phillum City in 2011 and a special appearance in Zanjeer in 2013. Talking about her take on films, she says although she loves doing them, she would never leave serials for doing films. She is also a participant in the popular dance reality show on Jhalak Dikhhla Ja (Season 8), 2015.Despite the sitcom's success, Kaushik left the show in January 2013 to star in another SAB TV sitcom Tota Weds Maina opposite Gaurav Gera. The story focused on Tota (Gera) and Maina (Kaushik), and the situations that ensued when they mistakenly get married to one another.
However, the show continually saw a dip in the TRPs and went off air in the April of the same year.[10] During her time off FIR, the show took a 20-year leap with actor Chitrashi Rawat playing the role of Jawalamukhi Chautala, Chandramukhi's daughter. Kaushik made a comeback in FIR donning her previous role of Chandramukhi Chautala in July 2013 while Rawat was asked to quit the show.She was also seen in the popular yoth based show 'Remix' where she was seen as lawyer. She appeared in a brief role in the serial called Tumhari Disha and was also part of popular show C.I.D. as Sub-inspector Anushka. She shot to fame for her role of a super cop Chandramukhi Chautala in SAB TV's F.I.R..Other shows she has acted in, include Raat Hone Ko Hai, Tumhari Disha, Dil Kya chahta hai, Kesar, Ghar ek Sapna, Arre Diwano Mujhe pehchano and the popular show Remix where she played the role of Pallavi. But the role for which she is best known is that of Haryanvi cop Chandramukhi Chautala. She won the hearts of fans with the comic role and achieved fame nationwide. She signed off from the show for a short period but returned to complete one thousand episodes because heartbroken fans demanded her return from the makers of the show.
Not only did she establish herself as a talented actress and comedian on the show but also proved her versatility on screen by experimenting with twists in the plot and dangerous stunts which her role demanded.
