Neethu Chandra Biography



Neetu Chandra is an Indian actress, producer and theatre artist. She is also an established classical dancer and an active sportsperson, involved in the promotion of Basketball in the country through her close association with the NBA and Taekwondo, being a fourth Dan blackbelt.



 She has her own production house called Champaran Talkies, winning the National Award for the film Mithila Makhaan.Neetu Chandra is a famous Indian film actress, model who is best known from her role of Rani Sampatha / Karishma in the popular Tamil movie Ameerin Aadhi Baghavan which was released in 2013. 



She made her bollywood debut with hit comedy Akhsay kumar starrer film Garam Masala as Sweety in 2005. She made her Telugu movie debut with Vishnu as Hero Friend in 2003. She was a brand ambassador for the Hoop [ Gitanjali ] and has appeared in commercial ads like Mysore Sandal Soap.

Lucky Oye!, Rann, No Problem, Apartment, Sadiyaan, Ameerin Aadhi Baghavan, Settai, Home Sweet Home, Power, Thilagar, Kusar Prasad Ka Bhoot, Vaigai Express and many more.In the year 2008, she had four releases by Directors, Dibakar Banerjee, Rahul Dholakia, Ashwini Dheer and Vikram. 



Her Tamil film, Yavarum Nalam with Madhavan released this year and was declared a major hit. Currently, Neetu is working on a major project, Jag Mundhra's Apartment.Her first controversy came in the form of a lesbian photo shoot in 2009. Neetu along with model Krishikha Gupta shot a girl-on-girl photo shoot for a men's magazine. 



The incident had irked self-styled moral police, which termed it as promotion of lesbianism.In 2010, Neetu hogged global limelight, when cricket match-fixing was broke out. The actress was linked with Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif. 



A report by Interpol and Scotland Yard had claimed that the actress had made two phone calls and exchanged SMS"s with the controversial cricketer, discussing sensitive cricket issues and deals. However, later she clarified that she does not know Asif or any Pakistani cricketer for that matter. Her name is being unceremoniously dragged in the match-fixing debate with baseless allegations.

 

In 2011 Deswa, a Bhojpuri film which she produced and which was directed by her brother, is released.


In 2013, she acted in the Tamil gangster film Ameerin Aadhi Baghavan with Jayam Ravi. She has completed filming for a Greek film Home Sweet Home,[ in which she plays an Indian girl. She had to learn Greek for the film and also dubbed herself. She has two Hindi films, Kusar Prasad Ka Bhoot and Shooter, coming up.
