Nikitha's modeling career began at the age of 10, when she worked with noted director Rajiv Menon on a television advertisement for Annapurna Iodised salt. It was followed by ads for Fair and Lovely and other brands over the next few years. In 2009 she won the Dabur Miss Fresh Face of Hyderabad, after which she participated at the 2010 Miss South India contest, earning the second runner-up title along with a host of sub-titles (Miss Congeniality and Miss Beautiful Skin).
