Her family later migrated to United States, while her parents are currently working as yoga instructors at Ohio, USA.She got married to Rahul Pavanan, the grandson of acclaimed writer Pavanan on 27 December 2009 in Bangalore after fifteen years long love affair. Abhirami worked as the marketing director of an MNC in United States. She occasionally has worked as a voice actor and television host.
