Raima Sen was born 7 November, 1979 (Raima Sen age 36 Years) in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Raima Sen is a Very Beautiful and Talented Indian Film Actress. Raima Sen Father Bharat Dev Varma and Her Mother named Named Moon Moon Sen.



 Raima Sen has one sister named Riya Sen, who is also an actor of India. Raima Sen Mainly appeared in Bollywood, Bengali, Telugu and Malayalam Movies. Raima Sen was made her debut by the Bollywood film Godmother in 1999.



 Raima Sen is the daughter of actress Moon Moon Sen and granddaughter of legendary actress Suchitra Sen. Raima's debut role in Godmother was small but noticed.In 2001, she starred in another film, Daman, in which she played the supporting role of Deepa Saikia.



 Her portrayal of Deepa gained appreciation from the critics and audiences alike. Her breakthrough came in 2003 when she starred in Rituparno Ghosh’s film Chokher Bali. She gained wider prominence and her caliber as an actress was further fortified when she starred in the 2005 film Parineeta.



Raima Sen set foot into the glamour and glitz filled world of Bollywood in the year 1999 with the release of her first film ‘Godmother’. This film which was written and directed by Vinay Shukla was apparently inspired by the life of Santokben Jadeja. 




Santokben Jadeja, known popularly as ‘Godmother’ was a lady in control of an underworld enterprise in India. The movie was a success and it received numerous National Film Award awards for various categories namely: Best Feature Film in Hindi, Best Editing, Best Male Playback Singer and many more. 



Vishal Bharadwaj received the National Film award for the film’s catchy music and Javed Akhtar grabbed the award for the Best lyrics category. 



In the film, although Raima’s role might have been overlooked because of the lead role of the protagonist played by Shabana Azmi, yet she acquired some amount of appreciation for her act in the film. Next up in 2001, she starred in the Kalpana Lajmi directed ‘Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence’. 



In this movie she played the role of Raveena Tandon’s daughter and although the role which she played was a small one, yet she continued to receive praises for her performance in the film.



 Raima's maternal great-grandfather Adinath Sen was a prominent Kolkata businessman, whose son Dinanath Sen - a relative of former Union Law Minister Ashoke Kumar Sen- was the Diwan or a Minister of the Maharaja of Tripura.



  The sisters are credited on-screen under their mother's maiden name, although their official papers carry the surname Dev Varma. Her breakthrough was in Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film Choker Bali in which she was appreciated over Aishwarya Rai. 



She also appeared in parineeta. This time it was the PradeepSarkar directed ‘Parineeta’ which turned out to be a boon for her. This film which had Saif Ali Khan, VidyaBalan, Sanjay Dutt, Raima Sen herself and DiaMirza was a huge success at the theatres and Raima Sen received lots of accolades for her act in the film. 



Here she played the role of a playmate of the lead heroine VidyaBalan who at that time was herself a debutant. After Parineeta’s success, Raima Sen had two hits : The first being the Rituparno Ghosh directed ‘AntarMahal’ and the second being the action multi-starrer thriller titled ‘Dus’ directed by AnubhavSinha.
